You have reached my website for my daily photo series.
I have been doing a photo a day for over 4 years-taking photos of myself, first in bathrooms and then just turning the project into a kind of diary. I have been doing these self-portraits since I bought my little Nikon Cool Pix 2500 camera in 2002. It has a rotating lens that allows me to see myself in the tiny monitor. This is how I can get the photos I want. I spend a little time each day, taking photos and then going through and editing them down into one or two that I post on Flickr. Some days I find it very easy and other days I find it a little more difficult. I even have posted photos on days I was very sick or in the hospital coming out of surgery only a few minutes before. I capture it all.
Yes, sadly, I am sure some people just don’t understand this project. They wonder why I take photos of myself. Some may even suspect I am doing it for attention. I say without a doubt Yes! Of course I am doing this for attention. I do it because it saves my soul. I love this project. I love living life out-loud and I hate the passing of time. I use this as a way to slow it down and as a place to record memories. I show those good days and bad. Most of the time I enjoy just practicing the sport of flirting. The best part of all of this, I have found an amazing community of people who do “get” me and this project.
As for those viewers, those of you who take the time to come and see me each day, well I simply adore you. I appreciate your visits. I enjoy your comments and generous compliments. You motivate me to continue doing this and you really help me when I am feeling down with care and concern.
